VANIE POYEY - LOS ANGELES HEADSHOT PHOTOGRAPHER

Vanie, pronounced like Bonnie but with a V, has been a visual artist since she could hold a pencil (that was a long time ago). Influenced by her father, who was a whiz with a camera, Vanie Poyey has been shooting pictures since her teens.   Her time spent studying visual arts in Los Angeles, at both LA County High School for the Arts, and Otis, one of the most prestigious art schools in the nation, led her to an even greater passion for photography.  Growing up in Los Angeles and being surrounded by the film and television industry, Vanie discovered a love for shooting headshots and portraits.  An intimate knowledge of the business has given Vanie the experience and insight that makes her headshot photography work unique; not only for actors and actresses, but also for all creative personalities, business executives, and the occasional individual interested in an exceptional on-line dating portrait!

Vanie's headshot photography work includes musical talents Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, and Nellie. She’s also taken head shots for such sports personalities as Cal Ripken Jr., David Ortiz, Derek Jeter, and Dale Earnheardt Jr.

Her photography work has been featured in national ad campaigns in publications such as USA Today, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Pontiac's Performance magazine, Mediaweek, and many others. Her commercial work can also be seen in national web banner ads, on standees and kiosks, and on banners on the side of Madison Square Garden in New York City!  Furthermore, Vanie's headshot work has been featured in articles in many magazines some of which include BackStage West and DoubleExposure.com. 

Many of Vanie’s headshot clients can be seen daily in commercials, on TV shows like Nip/Tuck, and in films such as Secretary, Batman, and Bewitched.

Because she is an expert at capturing headshots that serve as a marketing tool, Vanie has been an invited guest speaker on "The Business of Acting" at places like the UCLA Extension Program with Pam Dixon, and at AIA. She consistently receives referrals from agencies of all sizes including BBA, Avalon, and Osbrink, just to name a few.

Vanie’s headshot photo sessions are personalized, creating an environment conducive to making clients feel comfortable.  Her photography technique fully utilizes a sense of understanding how to "market" an individual while bringing out his or her personality.
